We generally find that the hot topic on everyone’s lips generally revolves around money. More specifically, lack of money! It seems the one thing that none of us were taught at school was how to save money. Well this websites main aim is to re-emphasize the main tips to help save money. If you are reading this page with the intention of getting out of debt fast and driving around in a million dollar car in the next few weeks, then it may be a good idea to find a web page that is full of empty promises. Unless you win the lotto (and even then the chances of you becoming financially free are very slim, as statistics show a large majority of lotto winners wind up in a worse position than they started), saving money takes time!

There are numerous ways to save money. The most obvious being off course to save more than you spend. However, there are also other options that we don’t necessarily relate with saving money, eg, earning more money (finding an alternative way to make a few extra dollars), or simply consolidating some existing debt. Let us start with the most obvious, which is off course to save money.

Believe it or not, the easiest way to save money is to ensure that you are spending less than you earn! Oh yeah, great advise I hear you all say – if only it were that easy! Well, believe it or not, it is that easy. Probably one of the worst mistakes the majority of us make is our inability to budget. Take a few minutes to collate all your income and expenses (watch this site as I will soon have a template to assist with your budgeting). It is important that you think hard about where all your money is going. Because if you want to start saving, you really need to know where you are spending!! Remember, it isn’t how much you earn that it important, it is how much you spend!! Unfortunately I have crossed paths with many people on executive salaries (people earning well over $100,000.00 per year), who still struggle to pay their bills and more importantly, save some money! On a more positive note, I also have the pleasure of dealing with people who earn less than the average income, who end up retiring wealthy. How does this happen? Simple – they SPEND LESS THAN THEY EARN!
